“Beautiful, compelling, irresistible: Slice will knock you right out. In the best way possible.”
-- Junot Diaz, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao
“Slice is among the golden few of modern literary publications, not only because of its fiction, poetry, interviews, and articles, but because it's simply the one everyone is talking about.”
-- Simon Van Booy, winner of the Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award and author of The Secret Lives of People in Love

Slice Literary's “Bridging the Gap” Competition
In the spirit of celebrating emerging authors, the Slice Literary Writers' Conference is pleased to announce our second annual “Bridging the Gap” competition. Conference participants are invited to submit one piece of fiction or nonfiction (5,000 words max) for the competition. First place in each category will be selected by four leading literary agents. Winning authors will receive $100 with their award.
Please submit your work to BridgingtheGap [at] slicemagazine.org once your conference registration is confirmed. Two groups of literary agents and editors will pick a winner in both fiction and nonfiction categories. The deadline to submit your work is June 30, 2012.
Winners will be announced at the conference on Saturday, July 21.
