We're thrilled to introduce our first issue of Slice,
a new magazine created to provide a forum for dynamic
conversation between emerging and established authors.
The soul of this magazine is to celebrate stories and
voices from across the globe.
We have brought together poets, writers, and
publishers all to play upon the theme of new
beginnings. We hope to inspire you with a collection
of poetry, prose, and interviews. While we originally
intended to use the theme of new beginnings solely as
a way of exploring literature, we soon discovered
another thread of narratives tucked away in the
corners of people's lives, whether it is seeing a
continent for the first time or welcoming a newborn
into the world. In the spirit of discovering new
voices and evoking the substance that fuels great
literature, we have included a series of articles
reflecting these personal experiences. We have plucked
these stories, poems, and articles and placed them
side-by-side to spark a dialogue. One you might hear
in a room full of voices that otherwise would never
have found one another.
